A type specimen provides visual examples of a specific typeface in a variety of point size, weights and leading measurements. It also displays how the upper and lower case, numeral, symbols and punctuation styles look like.
The objective of this project is to create a type specimen book with an open source, variable typeface. I chose Voto Serif because I personally think that Voto Serif has unique and beautiful variable adjustments. Voto Serif contains adjustable axes that allow custom weights, widths and optical sizes.
The design for this book was inspired from concert posters I saw while visiting my hometown. The concert posters that I came across had dark backgrounds with colors that popped out in addition to white. I used magenta and cyan to highlight or emphasize certain elements in the page. Ofcourse, the typeface used throughout the project is Voto Serif.
